From beach to beach
From Los Cancajos beach to the beach of Playa Salemera – heading south-we pass the airport. As there are no paths along the water we use narrow tracks between the banana plantations.
After an exciting descent on partly slippery, volcanic gravel roads and overlooking the blue Atlantic we reach the little beach of Salemera. After some refreshment in the small beach bar we follow small asphalt roads with very little traffic and climb to two spectacular viewpoints, the “Mirador Montana Brena” and the “Mirador de Las Toscas”. The island at our feet and the spectacular view far over the Atlantic to the neighbouring island Tenerife and La Gomera or to the mountain ridge, The Cumbre, which divides the island in east and west.
The long descent opens spectacular views over the island’s capital Santa Cruz, the airport, the harbor and the city beach
